Le Moulin de Connelles, a place
through the ages…

Are you a passionate history lover or curious to learn about the history of Normandy? We invite you to come and stay at our Moulin, which has been converted into a stunning boutique hotel.

The origins of the Moulin de Connelles can be traced back to September 6, 1683, making it an important relic of Normandy’s past. The architecture, furnishings, scenic views, and interior design will transport you to a truly timeless experience…

History of the Moulin

In the 17th century, the building was exclusively used as a watermill to grind the wheat of the vassals of the Baronnie.

In 1834, the mill became the property of Jean-Louis Vallet, Mayor of the commune of Connelles. Around 1905, it was transformed into a manor.

By 1900, the mill’s machinery was finally dismantled, and it permanently lost its function as a wheat mill.

Transmitting passion

Since 1683, when the first construction of the mill took place, several owners have come and gone, each transforming its architecture, giving it a harmonious Anglo-Norman style that it possesses today. Purchased in 1989 by Hubert PETITEAU, the mill was completely renovated and taken over by his daughter Karine, who passionately manages it to this day.

In August 2021, the Moulin celebrated its 30th anniversary in the family!

The history of Connelles and its mill is fascinating. Feel free to inquire at the hotel reception upon your arrival; you will be provided with a document containing additional information.

After 33 years of passion and still in love with the place, we are continuing this beautiful adventure!
